The Missouri State University Women’s Chorus will embark on their very first international concert tour this May, visiting and performing concerts in five different cities throughout the Czech Republic and Germany.
Founded in 2014, the MSU Women’s Chorus has risen to national prominence in recent years, with invited performances at multiple state, regional, and national conferences. With 82 members representing a wide variety of backgrounds and majors, this diverse group seeks to inspire listeners through musical excellence and varied repertoire. Recent engagements include a performance at the MSU Presidential Inauguration for Dr. Biff Williams and an invited performance at the National Collegiate Choral Organization National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, which featured the world premiere of an extended work for women’s chorus, orchestra, sitar, and tabla.
This concert tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to travel and share their music with international audiences. This musical and cultural exchange will have a profound impact not only on these students, but all those they come in contact with abroad and in the future as they carry with them the lasting effects of this experience.
Our students are dedicated and hardworking, and we need your help to make this opportunity possible for them. Any amount you can give will go toward making the cost of travel affordable for our students, enabling them to share their music with audiences across Germany and the Czech Republic.
